Hello,
Been using the Sainsbury's Groceries app for quite some time without issue, probably over a year by now. Two app versions ago, it appears they started using device certification to block phones from seeing the app inside the Google Play Store despite it being installed already. I could not stay at that app version because opening it immediately displayed a message saying that the app needed to be updated and it blocked further use of the app. However, then going into Play Store to search for that app, it just said that the app was not available for my device and I could not update it. As a workaround I updated the app via Aurora Store. With the 2nd update from Aurora Store a couple of days ago, the Sainsbury's app won't open at all anymore, when I click the app icon to open it, it very quickly jumps from that app to within the Play Store with a message that says:
The app installed on your device is not recognised and could harm your device. To continue using this app, search for it on Google Play
But obviously, I can't find the app!
I will be contacting the app developers but was wondering whether this behaviour by the Play Store is new and whether we can expect this to happen with more apps going forward?
