How to hide the annoying navigation bar/gesture hint

I would like to get rid of this annoying little bar at the bottom of my screen. Didn't find anything in the settings to disable it.

I'm comfortable with using adb. Any ideas?

I don't think it's possible to turn it off. And by the way it's not specific to GOS, the stock OS has it as well.

You could only replace it with the three button navigation bar in the settings. But that changes the whole navigation mode.

yeah, I know. samsungs and oneplus phones and bunch of other non google phones have the ability to turn it off patched in.

yeah thats like an even bigger navigation bar so no option for me
