Pixel 7a verizon sim-locked ans GOS

Hi everyone,
I'd like to buy a second hand phone to use it as a burner phone for travelling for example. I have the opportunity to buy a pixel 7a, Verizon sim-locked.
Would that be possible to install grapheneos on it? I would use it wifi-only so I don't really care about the sim card, but the ability to install GOS is required to me.

If it's "carrier locked" it's not possible to unlock the bootloader, thus you cannot install GrapheneOS

Verizon never allows you to unlock the bootloader, don't.

Other carriers may impose a locked bootloader until the phone is paid off. It's mostly a problem in the US, it's best you buy the phone outright or have strong confidence OEM unlocking will be possible, ideally with a solid return policy.
