Install Graphene on Stock firmware May 2025

I convinced a friend of mine to try Graphene.
He has a Pixel 8a stock May 2025: can I install GrapheneOS without any problem ?
If he wants to go back to the stock version, since the bootloader has been modified, what are the risks?

If it was bought w/o carrier lock (see https://grapheneos.org/faq#recommended-devices), yes
