I believe the suggestion is to provide a detailed list of steps that result in the crash, something like:

Launch the Files app.
Tap on the hamburger menu icon at the top left.
Tap on ...

It is somewhat difficult to interpret the description so far. One issue is that the description includes a mixture of "->" and "-" in ways that I am not familiar with.

Is it possible you deleted the folders? If you look in either the stock files folder or another file manager, do you see folders for Downloads and Documents?

You can try clearing the app's storage in Settings > Apps > All apps > Files > Storage and cache to see if that helps.

I do not believe this question has been clearly answered yet. As far as you are aware, did you delete the Download folder? Please answer "Yes", "No", or "I am not sure".

I have already done this several times, unfortunately without success -> I don't know why download folders can no longer list in the quick choice - at the beginning the problem was that I was always open in the last time I was open, Cache actually helped empty. Then at some point the root downloads problem

Has adb been used to make changes to the system? If so, what changes have been made?

This faintly suggests that it might be useful to reset the cache and/or storage of Proton Drive.

MarlboroRed2000 On a test device I deleted the Download folder. The Files app appeared to work fine. Then I used Vanadium to download something. The Download folder was re-created.

If you have cleared both the cache and the storage of the Files app, I'm not sure what else to suggest.
