Not receiving group text notifications in secondary profiles

Using the default Messages app, secondary profiles don't receive any kind of notifications for group texts. Incoming texts arrive correctly but I have to manually open the app to check for them. Normal text conversation notifications work fine, and the owner profile receives notifications for all types with no issue. Is there a fix for this?

This is exactly my problem as well, on a Pixel 9 pro xl. I have tried other SMS apps (including Google Messages) with no change.

I also tried enabling notification forwarding from owner to user profile (and from user to owner just in case) and it did not help. Hoping for a solution as most of my contacts use group SMS heavily.
