Used P9P enrolled in Android beta program has greyed out OEM unlock

I bought a second hand P9P and was gonna slap GOS on it straight away, but the OEM unlock is greyed out and I'm pretty sure it's not cos it's carrier locked as it is bought through a shop here in Sweden that doesn't sell locked phones (I have a receipt), nor do any carriers lock them anyway, but apparently it's enrolled in the Android Beta Program, and my only guess is that that's the reason it's greyed out? Any ideas on that, or help to roll it out of the beta program as I'm not anywhere near the seller.

That needs the previous owner's log in apparently, I tried with my Google account and I could only see the P6 I have as a unit to enroll in or out of the beta program

I think that it's just a possibility that it is even enrolled in the beta program. Since you are still on stock PixelOS; what does software update tell you? Is the device on a beta build? Have you tried reinstalling/reflashing the OS through flash.android.com? Those would be the first steps to try.

The update service said it was on the Android 16 beta program, didn't try the link you mentioned, but I did get the previous user's Google-credentials to remove it from the beta program, luckily, and as soon as it was out of that and rolled back to stock Android 15 I had the option to unlock OEM :)

ujjayi How did you get previous user google credentials ? It might be useful if we encounter the same situation later.

I managed to get in contact with him and he just gave me his log in credentials without much further persuation, as strange as that sounds. Took about an hour before the phone got the downgrade/exit update.

What kind of store is it that doesn't check whether the devices have been thoroughly reset before reselling them? That was more than just luck getting the Google account details from the previous owner to make it usable for you.

I bought it from a marketplace for second hand things here, so not really a store, just off the private seller. And indeed I lucked out getting his credentials! Could maybe do with a warning to people buying second hand Pixels to put GOS on them to inform about making sure a device is not enrolled in the Android Beta Program tho
