apk installation fails in private profile

I tried to install apps such as F-droid or Neo-Store in my private profile via .apk. The installation was cancelled with a message indicating that a package already existed. However, apps from the Play Store can be installed.

What can I do?

the_mask Each device can have each app installed only once. But the owner can "push" already-installed apps into other profiles.

Settings, System, Users, tap on a user, "Install available apps". At least for regular secondary profiles.

No? You can install apps multiple times, and installing the same application with a newer version will update the application globally. Like-wise, deleting the application on one profile won't effect other profiles (unless you are the Owner and do a global delete)

Pushing it is a fine way to get over the OPs issue, but this isn't how GOS works. Is OP sure that they are installing it from the private user?

What is the situation?
I currently have a personal and a business area (via Shelter) on a Pixel 9P in my main profile. I would like to reduce the business area and move the apps that require Play Services to the private profile. But I would also like to use some Apps from F-Droid or Neo-Store.

In the private profile, F-Droid and Neo Store cannot be installed via a downloaded .apk file. Error message: “The app was not installed because the package conflicts with an existing package.”

All of this is happening within my main profile. What is the reason?

This usually happens if the signing key is different, or maybe a downgraded package. You should make sure the apks are from the same source and signed by the same key. Otherwise it won't work.

Do you mean from the same source as in the main profile? That's difficult to determine, as F-Droid / Neo-Store have been running in the main profile for quite some time.

That would mean that it would be advisable to uninstall both in all profiles and then reinstall them with a current apk, correct? Because that's the only way to ensure that they are exactly the same versions, right?
