Good morning all, I have recently installed GrapheneOS in my first steps towards reducing my digital footprint. I'd like to clarify something regarding Google Play Store - I've been reading many forum and reddit posts but can't get my head around it.
Some of my banks do not have web apps and therefore require an app to use online. These also cannot be downloaded separately and so are only available on Google Play Store. I am unable to sign in to Google Play Store on grapheneos with a throwaway account, because the throwaway accounts always require a phone number. Therefore i need to sign in with my real account. Is this an acceptable risk so long as i only keep those apps in a particular profile? Or am i completely negating the purpose of GrapheneOS? I'd like to maintain some usability.
I'm also something of a luddite (as is probably obvious by now), but what are the risks of allowing apps Network Access? E.g. presumably a banking app would require network access, otherwise it would not be able to connect to the internet and therefore would be useless?
Thanks very much in advance
