Wait, really just a year ago? Unfortunately the laptop market has some pitfalls to avoid:
- getting spinning rust harddrives advertised as "so much storage space" instead of getting a SSD. Also getting SATA instead of nvme isn't good.
- CPU models that denote they are from this year actually have entirely old tech inside.
For example.
Model 7999 = new tech
Model 7945 = 3 year old CPU
They like to hide the CPU model until you look at specifications. Only says "ultra 5" in the name to trick ya.
It used to be all 7000 series were all using the same tech.
Hmmm, but actually I don't know. Maybe you got a good deal on a budget laptop.
