N1b Ubuntu got some shady history with Amazon, Telemetry and enforcing Snap, but in the end it's quarrels since the user can modify everything to their liking as per usual.
No it isn't just "quarrels", what Ubuntu did was a total breach of trust they can never regain again. Linux Mint promised to never do what they did, and in fact never included any telemetry they added despite being their downstream, so many of us switched back then and would never ever even consider switching back again.
I can not in good conscience recommend a Linux distribution that thought it was okay to send all user activity to Amazon for ad profit, even if they reversed their decision when everyone started boycotting them. I trusted Ubuntu to keep me safe, and then they did this. It is like if GrapheneOS would suddenly decide to send what you type to Amazon for ad profit, it is that level of breach of trust.
