Accrescent download fail, hostname issue.

Hi all, I have almost freshly installed GrapheneOS, slowly degoogling, I have no SIM card inserted in my Pixel 9, I think no apps installed, no VPN, just wifi through OPNSense own router where also no VPN is installed and I am trying to install Accrescent from the App Store, but I always got error that the download failed:
Donload failed
Unable to download Accrescent: Unable to resolve the server name.
Details: java.net.UnknownHostException: unable to resolve host "apps.grapheneos.org": No address associated with hostname.

Any idea pls what settings need to be changed or what the problem is?

embeathome It seams like the dns server you are using are blocking the domain apps.grapheneos.org. What dns server have you configured on your router and are you doing any local dns blocking (e.g. pihole or adguard home) on your network?

Thank you! I have unbound DNS set, I have some Blocklist (Steven Black list), DNS pointed to my OPNsense router. Not sure if this setup blocks grapheneos.org but I whitelisted it and now it works. I wasn't able to install any app from the app store, not only Accrescent, while playing with the settings of OPNsense, it still didn't work, so I tried to install other apps, with the same result, restarted both, phone and OPNsense, then I realized that GOS didn't connect to wifi automatically, which is strange, after turning on wifi I was able to install Accrescent. So thanks, now all OK :)

Regarding any local dns blocking (e.g. pihole or adguard home) - no, just this Steven Blacklist, funny is that I haven't seen GOS in the list of blocked domains. But the list was extremely long and it might be that due to no wifi on Pixel....

embeathome Glad it helped. The reason you had to restart the phone is because it caches dns results for a certain amount of time. Restarting the phone deletes that cache. In my experience disconnecting/reconnecting to the Wi-Fi is actually enough.
