I have been using graphene OS for over a year and use Google FI for travling reasons but always used RCS because FI phone number sync in messages never worked then today out of nowhere got a notification from messages to enable it and am now using the feature to text from the browser and works great after initial sync.
Hope this is helpful on FI wanting to use this feature i am on a Pixel 7a latest Graphene version.
