I found using GrapheneOS not only makes your device more secure, but it sort of gets you to make variety of choices with privacy and security. For example, in Android I always used to store all my passwords in Google Notes app. After changing to GOS I changed my approach and store notes only with daily reminders or something non sensitive and more private stuff in encrypted space on separate device. I might be little paranoid in terms of access, but hardware is still from Google. In terms of software sometimes I lack the ability to update the phone for long time when abroad as to not brick the device, during this time some vulnerabilities can come out that might allow access to device. In the event like these, even if someone had access, you only expose minimal amount of data. Whilst on the topic of exposing data, I genuinely feel we are putting too much into these small devices that often get lost, stolen or damaged
But yes all in all, thank you. I am happy with better alternative to stock Android. I would hope in the future we have our own hardware and software platform and are not reliant on big tech - one can dream ;)
