I have been running a day to day profile on my Pixel 8 Pro, since the phone was first available. I have been using Aurora Store and Neo Store for apps until now, but would like to add Play Store now from GrapheneOS's App Store and if all goes well, subsequently wean out Aurora, Neo and their installed app versions. I have texts, wallpaper, bookmarks, downloads, etc, which I'd rather not have to try to copy and paste back into a brand new profile with Play Store installed from scratch. I am wondering, for apps already installed from Aurora and Neo stores, which are also available on Play Store, how easy would switching to the Play Store versions be? I know there will be version discrepancies. Would the Play Store versions install directly over the existing versions without affecting user data in these apps? Example: Some of the apps I've already installed are Proton mail/calendar/vpn, Signal, etc. If a direct install over top of the old versions isn't possible, is it possible to install Play Store versions, which would coexist alongside, until I could maybe transfer any required user data over to the new version where possible? Any other insights? I'd rather not have a major 'oops' event with loss of data. many thanks
