USB C mirroring - audio problems

Who can help me? Since the last update - 20250425 - when I connect my Pixel 8 Pro via USB C to a TV, only the picture is on the TV but the audio comes out of the smartphone. Is that a new bug?

I have tried different cables and TVs.

No just using a Bluetooth speaker instead of TV audio as a workaround.

I wanted to update with my hardware info in case this helps . Display port is anker usb-c hub 6 in one for handheld game console modelAB351. My device is Pixel 8 Pro.
This issue first started after upgrade to graphene 2025042500 build I installed on 27th .

I am also having the same issue. I'm on a Pixel 8a, using a Comprehensive VersaDock for the USB to HDMI connection, it's a mini-doc for a Mac. I know this worked previously, but audio no longer passes through, and the external monitor (TV) does not show up as an option in any of the audio output settings.

You can add Pixel 8 to the list. I also use it every day. It failed to send audio to TV last update. I use USB C out to TV.

Developer response on the issue tracker:

This has been narrowed down to being caused by an upstream Linux kernel change applied in the 6.1 LTS branch. They made the change in an attempt to work around frame drops caused by a workaround used by video players on X11 to keep the screen awake by resetting the XScreenSaver state at an interval, which caused the Linux kernel GPU driver infrastructure to commit an empty frame due to resetting the DPMS state. We've reverted the workaround since that's not relevant to Android and this works again. It will be included in an upcoming release. If an issue like this is reported during Alpha or Beta testing, we can avoid it reaching Stable. This was only reported a while after it was in the Stable channel.
