Logging into apps using google account

I know for many this may defeat the purpose of using Graphene, but I am not intending on going 100% off google. There is some data I don't care about Google having (game apps, Youtube, email, etc...)

I've noticed that with the 3 google play service apps (framework, services, store) installed that I'm unable to use "login with google" on any app. Additionally on the Youtube app when I attempt to login, under accounts it just gives a "Please check your network and try again" error and I'm unable to login.

Is there a configuration that I'm missing to enable google sso?

I don't use the Play Store or Play Services myself, but the common solutions here are to ensure you have installed the Play Store itself, as Play Services requires the Store app to be installed as well. Also ensure that network permissions are granted to the Play Store and Play Services. And finally, if you installed these Google components after installing the dependent apps, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall those apps before they will detect and make use of the Play components.
