Let me start by saying that the work on GOS is incredible. I'm new to GOS, but I'm a fairly technical person and I'm very excited to learn more about it.
That said, I'm having a peculiar problem with audio using Android Auto. I see that there are several threads about this, but I think that this problem is unique, and I didn't want it to get buried in another thread. If this has already been covered, I apologize and would love a link to the discussion.
So, I'm trying to get audio to work in my 2017 Chevy Bolt using Android Auto via a wired connection with a new Pixel 9a. Yesterday, I had no luck at all. Today, I've made a little progress. I read that for an app to work using AA, it must be installed with Google Play. I installed Organic Maps (which didn't work yesterday, installed via F-Droid) and YouTube Music using Google Play. OM comes up now (yay!) and YTM comes up, but there's no audio. It shows the track playing on the dash, but no audio. If I unplug my phone, audio will play over Bluetooth, but when I plug it back in, I can't even select My Chevy Link from the audio output selection in the volume control submenu. It just showed the loading animation until it times out. I've tried with Android Auto wireless enabled and disabled. I also learned that I prevent my car from connecting to my phone, or maybe vice versa, even if I turn off Bluetooth. I always unplug and replug after making changes. I thought maybe the wireless connection was interfering with the wired connection for audio output, but since I can't prevent the wireless connection, I can't really test it.
That's all the details I can think of. Please ask questions if I've left anything out. I'd really like for this to work if possible. I'm happy to perform tests related to AA audio and provide additional information. Thanks in advance.
