Password manager on private space?

I have a password manager that blocks the VPN I use so I have so far had to resort to split tunneling to bypass that. Does anyone else have experience installing password manager to the private space and using it to apps (autofill) outside the private space? Or work profile for that matter.

As addendum is there any other potential problems that may arise with apps installed in the private space versus regular install if the app requires e.g. accessibility or other advanced permissions?

Sounds like some proprietary stuff that shouldn't handle your passwords anyway.
I suggest to use something like Bitwarden.

Given that private space is fully isolated from your other apps, I highly doubt this would work.

I would suggest changing your password manager if it blocks your VPN.

I don't think it should work. The prompt to create a private space says that the apps will stop when the space is locked; it might work as-is but risk to not work in the future post-update. You could always try with a program like KeepassDX and play with the different options. It uses the near universal kpbx file format, which are encrypted and can either be kept local or synced over the network. I don't have any needs for the later.

And you can have as many kpbx files as you want and expirement for free.

I use Proton Pass in my Owner profile and Heliboard. Here's my problem. I installed Heliboard in my Private space but I can't change the private space keyboard to Heliboard since it thinks I already am using that input method (even though I'm only using it in Owner profile). And then I also use Proton Pass for autofill. How do I autofill in my private space? Does Proton Pass have to be installed in private space also? Because no option pops up on the keyboard for it (thats why i like Heliboard). Thanks.

nandohyphen1 You don't have the buttons at the top of the On-screen keyboard selection screen to switch between Personal and Private? Private space needs to be unlocked for it to be visible, and selecting a Private space keyboard independently from the regular profile works fine for me here.

Ammako I don't see any buttons at the top of the keyboard to switch. Thats with private space unlocked. At first I just dealt with it, but now its getting sorta annoying not to be able to autofill. :p

Ammako I think I found it now. I thought you meant to look at the top of the keyboard, but in settings under keyboard I can choose the private space keyboard. Will I still need proton pass in my private space if I want to use it for autofill or should it now work to use autofill from proton pass when the private space is unlocked since I have it installed in owner?

I'm running into this with Bitwarden, I have a 2nd profile, but I wanted to try to use the private space profile so I don't have to be jumping between profiles, my 2nd profile is mainly bank apps.

I installed all apps, including Bitwarden and Futo keyboard, but the bitwarden setting for autofill says that I already use bitwarden and it doesn't allow me to enable it in the private space, I use bitwarden in all profiles.

I just wanted to report it

Search for the activity named: com.android.settings.accounts.AddAccountSettings
This is not accessible from the normal UI, but seems like it might work.

Disable Sandboxed Google Play Services for Owner, but have it enabled in Private Space. Now, in the pull down menu at top of the screen you'll find the GmsCompat notification, tap 'Sandboxed Google Play is running', now you should be in this place:

Tap Google Settings. This is the Google Settings for the Private space, and you should find menus for Autofill etc.
