Flowchart of Graphene functions?

Is there a specific flowchart to access the primary Graphene functions?

Digital Independent is priceless on YouTube to get Graphene on your Pixel product. With that help you can a)use it for a phone b)access Vanadium browser, & text. But that's about it beside adjusting settings section.

Since Android has all icons created & Play Store working right after download...this isn't the case in Graphene. A few specific questions would be 1. how to create multiple profiles, 2)how to globally change permissions on an install, then turn on just the couple you need, & 3)get Play Store working to access the internet. I understand there's a 3rd app needed for Play Store downloads, but I see no procedure to access it.

Privacy would be readily embraced if it was as clear as the data-miners exploitation of the 2 main OS's most use.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.

1) To create multiple user profiles, go to Settings > System> Users, and you will see the option to add a new user.

If you're just coming to GrapheneOS, I recommend keeping it simple and not bothering with multiple profiles to start with.

2) It works the same way it would on Android. Settings > Apps > See all apps. You can then find the app you want to adjust permissions for and tap on "Permissions".

Keep in mind that most apps will just prompt you for permissions when they need them as you're using them.

3) To install sandboxed Google Play and use the Play Store, on your home screen tap on "App Store". Then, tap on "Google Play Services". Tap Install. Wait for everything to install (it can take a while for everything to be installed and you'll be asked to confirm the installation). You can then find the Play Store app installed and login to your Google account and start downloading apps as you would on regular Android.

For Item 2, is there a way to turn all permissions off, then add as needed?

For Item 3, Pixel 7 does randomized MAC's, which my Synology router doesn't tolerate. So, per Google, you create a new network using your SSID, but use the phones MAC. I then power down & boot. This was KEY to Play Store & Play Services functioning.

Let's keep in touch as I transition from data-miner to privacy.

Switch the setting for your Synology's network from "Use per-connection randomized MAC" to "Use per-network randomized MAC".

By default, if you install an app it doesn't have any permissions, and you have to add those you want the app to have. As for the permissions added by GrapheneOS:

Network permission's got a toggle right in the installation confirmation dialog for an app which allows you to revoke it.
Regarding the Sensors permission go to Security and privacy > More security and privacy in the system settings and here you can disable Allow Sensors permission to apps by default.
