Is the Account Scopes feature still being developed?

A way to stop Google apps communicating with each other and having separate login for different apps like Google Play, YouTube etc? Also so Google Maps and your location is not linked to the account if you are signed into another Google app. This would be the best feature ever developed if this is implemented.

GI1 Please be patient. App communication scopes is complicate to implement. Main task in the project is the porting to Android 16. The final release will be added to AOSP in May or June.

You may also notice that 2 senior developer are missing.

I think that GrapheneOS is now more focus on security updates, Android 16 porting rather than adding new features.

Of course you are up to date with the latest since you've mentioned this, but I'd prefer to say not that they're missing, but that they're unable to work on GrapheneOS related things for the time being.

Also, as Dumdum pointed out, it's one developer. The announcement used the word "they" out of habit, which we do to avoid giving out too much information about people involved in the project.

Okay thanks for the update. It’s surprising there there is no bigger donors out there willing to cover the costs of extra developers. Grapheneos is an important operating system especially with the way Google and Apple have been going in recent years. You would have thought there would be interest in funding the project more

I have read that there are around 250,000 GrapheneOS users. If all users donated $4 per year that would be a million. A donation rate of 100% is unlikely, but if 10% of users donated $4 per month that would be pretty helpful too.

GI1 Grapheneos is an important operating system especially with the way Google and Apple have been going in recent years. You would have thought there would be interest in funding the project more.

I agree that it's important! Hopefully lots of people agree enough to donate monthly, or quarterly, or yearly.

The GrapheneOS project have been clear money is not an issue, and that they have enough funding to hire multiple new developers. The issue is finding someone to hire, that has the necessary skills.

GI1 We have funding. All donations are of course appreciated, especially recurring, small donations from many people, so that our funding can be diversified and not reliant on less bigger donations rather than many smaller ones.

We have been hiring more people to work on the project. Finding the right people is extremely hard because our standards are very high. We have many things that we want to implement, and you also have to keep in mind that this is in addition to the constant maintenance and porting of existing features to every new Android version.
