TTS and read aloud

I've been running a Pixel 7 with Graphene OS for a few months now. I have not installed Google Play but a couple weeks ago installed Aurora Store to use anonymously. I installed eSpeak NG from GitHub and it seems to work - the app opens and will read some text I type back to me. Couple questions:

I am not able to install any read aloud app from Aurora Store. "App not available for your device" being the typical message I receive;
Separately, the voice I get on eSpeak is very robotic. To address the voice quality issue I tried installing Google Speech Recognition and Synthesis - but was unable to do so and get the same message as in #1.

Consuming written media - books, articles - via read aloud is important functionality for me and I would love to be able to implement it within Graphene. I would love to hear any suggestions to make it work.

For written media, mainly books, i myself i am using Librera with SherpaTTS.

I used eSpeak for a long time but as you say, the voices are very robotic.

Nowadays I use SherpaTTS which has incredibly natural sounding voices - at least the couple that I have tried. No play services required.

transcribro is listed in Accrescent and walks you through installing SherpaTTS inside the app IIRC.

naibed Thanks. I have not been able to install Transcribro but I will keep trying. It appears to be downloading almost to the end, and then it stops. Either way, it appears to be STT rather than TTS?

naibed Transcribro does not walk you through installing SherpaTTS. However, it does walk you through giving it necessary permissions, enabling Transcribro's keyboard, and setting Transcribro to be used as the preferred voice input.

Epictetus correct, Transcribro is for STT. Perhaps try clearing the storage for Accrescent or using a different network to download it.
