Files app- possible hide recent file list?

Quick question about the default files app (file manager), I would like to hide the recent files list that appears here by default.
Is there a way to do this?
I would prefer to have a system option to hide “recent” files from such a list.

If not, is it better to have such files stored within a separate user profile?

icon0068 there isn't a way to hide it, I don't really see what you are asking in terms of profiles

I thought that may be the case…..

By other profile, I was just thinking that the only way to separate these files would be to place them inside another profile. That way when the “main” profile is used, these other files aren’t accessible.

I guess the threat model is generally that no one else can access your device.

Just an FYI:
I just confirmed that if files are stored inside a Cryptomator vault, which can also be stored locally on the Android file system, the files can be opened but will not appear in the “recent” list.
