I'm using Ice with a physical SIM card and I have never experienced any problems on my Pixel 8. Calls seem to go through fine, I can receive and send SMS, mobile data is stable, and so on. Have used this SIM for over half a year. I keep my GrapheneOS up to date, currently on 2025041100.
I once had issues activating an eSIM with Ice, to which customer support told me "we don't support Pixel devices". They sent me a physical SIM and it has worked fine.
I'm not paying close attention to whether or not it's connecting to Ice or Telenor. Think it's connected to ice+ usually.
As a first measure, try System > Reset options > Reset Mobile Network Settings?
If that doesn't resolve it, try the SIM in another phone if possible?
Order a new SIM and see if that somehow resolves it? Might cost a few crowns but shouldn't cost a fortune? Might be less painful than the next suggestion…
I guess as a last measure, reflash to stock OS and see if the issue persists there?
