Bluetooth tracker (like Airtag's) working with GrapheneOS?

Hey everyone! I do use GrapheneOS since like two years, first one a Pixel 5, now on a Pixel 7. And so far I am impressed how good it "just works" - but now I reached a point where I get stuck. Any help is appreciated.

I once gain lost my wallet, and urgently need to find some Bluetooth tracker for my walled, keys etc. And I need it fast, before my ADHD Brain makes me loose even more stuff (again). I used to have Musegear finders, since they seemed to have the most reasonable privacy policies, but they are simply not robust enough. They break down within a few weeks of use, and when they still work, they give me too many "false" alarms since the button to ring the phone are too sensitive to be worn in a pocked.

I am aware that Bluetooth trackers a big privacy concern, but frequently loosing my wallet is an even bigger issue for me. Preferable, I would get something with a "find me network" like the apple airtags.

What I found so far:

Apple Airtags - well they do not work with Android /GrapheneOS :/

Google: "Find My Device" tracker like "pebblebee", "Chipolo" etc - from what I understand from this

they currently do not work with GOS, and its unclear if support will be added. :(

Samsung SmartTags - While they supposedly only work with Samsung phones, there is a solution to make them work on any phone: uTag

Unfortunately, I did not manage to get the app running, I assume it's because of the security features of GOS. Any hints here are welcome. Also, Samsung's TOS don't look appealing to me.

Tile has their own tracking network which seems to be not as sufficient as the Google or Samsung one - and they frequently have been bought by life360.It looks like they constantly try to force you get one of the subscriptions plans, and I don't trust them to not sell my data. Nevertheless, it seems to be the only solution that actually works on GrapheneOS.

Do I miss anything? Any solution I am not aware of? Are there any other trackers, I am not aware of, that actually work with GrapheneOS?

I can get the Chipolo app to open to the "add device" function but I am not able to successfully add a device.
I allowed every permission I could think of but still no success.

Tile app will not even open for me as it thinks I do not have google play services running, even though I do. I heard Tile used to work, but lately everybody says it no longer does.

It's a bit frustrating since the use of trackers is a major bonus to having a smartphone, but it's as if somebody somwhere wants to make compatibility as difficult as possible - for a security device. Ugh.

If anybody can get the Samsung tags to work with that app you mentioned, that'd be a major coup. Will be watching that one.

The one device I haven't yet tried that may work is Tracki, but I don't know for sure and it is a subscription based service. I heard it runs differently than the usual types and is considered one of the better ones for vehicle and luggage tracking.

I feel your pain.

I handle 'lost things' by having a dedicated place for wallet, keys, etc - its just an over learnt skill so I habitually stick to it. When things are going well, anyway.

Two ideas, neither of which I have any technical idea of what I am talking about:

if its lost around the house, is it possible to rig something up on your own local network, bluetooth or otherwise?
I am thinking about tracking my bike and theft. One option is to just buy a shitty second hand iPhone and use it with their tags if the day comes. Of course, you'll have to get that phone back to its 'home' every time you use it, so maybe its kicking the can down the road.

For my bike, I believe there are proper tracking devices and low-cost, low-bandwidth SIMs exactly for tracing valuable objects. I'd find a place to stow it on the frame. Not exactly wallet size, sorry.

...unless of course your wallet is that big, in which case, dude - you're buying lunch! (I'll have the lobster).

My uTag2s from samsung have arrived today.
I tried for a couple of hours to make them work, no success.

Tried this:
disabled Secure app spawning
enabled exploit compatibility
allowing nearby and sensors to both apps
turned on USB debugging
disabled/enabled webview jit compilation
forced activities to be resizable

Rebooted more than 5 times, so even though other users on github reported they succeded in installing it, I somehow couldn't.
Please do post if you find success.
