Hi all - since a recent update my assistant has stopped working. I use mull as my digital assistant app with 3 button navigation mode and until now, holding the circle/ middle button brings it up to search, whereas now nothing happens.

I've tried changing to a different assistant (eg another search widget/ browser/ tasker etc) with no result. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the 'circle to search' option in the navigation mode settings with no result.

Changing to gesture navigation results in the assistant working fine however - so it's clearly the 3 button mode that has the issue. Unless there's another setting somewhere that has now defaulted to off that I'm missing?

Using a pixel 6 fully up to date.

Many thanks

Hi sorry for the bump but is there any information on this? Thanks

Hryol My understanding is that the gesture UI code and the three-button UI are maintained by Google and unmodified by GrapheneOS from the AOSP base code. If you have access to a friend's device running Google's OS, updated to A15 QPR2, you might be able to see if it's broken there too (I suspect so, because Google doesn't appear to be very committed to the three-button UI).

My hunch is that zero GrapheneOS developer hours are being spent looking into this and likely none will -- GrapheneOS is focused on security and privacy, which are not apparently affected by this minor UI regression. Sometimes Google fixes something like this themselves in AOSP, in which case GrapheneOS will pick up the fix.

Please note that I do not speak for the GrapheneOS project.

Hryol Hi sorry for the bump [...]

Persobally I'd say that waiting a full week for an initial response about a fresh regression is reasonable conduct, not calling for an apology!

Thanks @de0u that's very helpful - I'll look into it from a Google source and keep an eye out for fixes there. Much appreciated
