About three weeks ago, my Hulu app logged me out and refused to log me back in, giving me the message "something went wrong. Try again?"

I tried:

  • updating the Hulu app
  • updating GOS
  • reinstalling Hulu app from various sources
  • installing Google Play Services (it had worked fine before without)
  • disabling my VPN (it had worked fine before with the VPN enabled)
  • toggling basically every togglable app setting

I then contacted Hulu, cuz I was pretty sure it was on their end considering the error message, and bless his heart, the customer service dude reeeally tried, but he just had no idea what the issue is. So I tried looking at the app's logs, but I can't pretend like I have any idea what anything in there means. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and can help me resolve it?

Thanks for any assistance.

nile_duart it will show if you have Google play services installed, regardless if its being called not much we can do

Hulu is not supported on GOS according to the google play store. Being able to install it is one thing, running it is another.

raccoondad Okay. But it worked fine for the two years I've been running GOS, and continued to work after I uninstalled Google Play Services, until about a month ago. I've tried reinstalling Play Services, updating everything, and found it still errored. So at this point I'm just wondering what exactly happened.

nile_duart They could have done something on their end to block it from working on phones running OSes that aren't certified by Google. I just tried on my phone, but I don't have an account to test with... Since you're already logged out, you can try clearing the app's storage and try logging in again.

other8026 Yup, tried that several times now. Looks like I'm SOL, which is fine, it happens, I just wish I knew what changed overnight.
