Duplicates of Contacts in Outgoing SMS

Greetings,

I’m only using the default GOS apps and encountering an issue with duplicate contacts. Specifically, I see 8 duplicates of the same contact when creating a new outgoing SMS. I’ve tried unlinking and deleting the duplicates, but they keep returning.

I’m using two profiles—one for personal use and one for work. I’ve checked the contacts settings and can’t find an option to clear the cache for contacts, and I prefer not to download additional apps to solve this.

If anyone has instructions or guidance on how to fix this, I would really appreciate it!

In order to delete all your contacts proceed as follows (this is going to delete all your contacts):

Go to settings - Apps - See all X apps - press the three dots in the top right corner - select show system - search for "Contacts Storage" - Storage & cache - clear storage.

Beware this is going to delete all your contacts so make sure you have a backup!
