I have been looking for an app which combines your speed with the distance to a moving object in front of you. Specifically the speed of my car and the distance to the car in front of me when driving (straight). The output being the distance between the two cars in seconds.
Has anyone heard about such an app?

    jacobb The distance (m) has a different unit than seconds (s). What you're trying to achieve is physically impossible.

    You want to combine the speed of your car and the distance to a car in front of you and then what? Try to rephrase what you're trying to achieve.

      What I think you're looking for is Adaptive Cruise Control whereby if the vehicle ahead slows down or someone cuts into your lane, the car eases off the accelerator or uses the brakes to slow down and keep an appropriate distance.
      You also set the speed (adapts your speed) to maintain a preset distance between your vehicle and the one in front.
      Generally these are a factory installed device.
      If your vehicle has cruise control , then it may be possible to add the forward facing radar, firmware etc.
