  • Compatibile devices with Sdcard reader slot

Hello. I'm interested in using GrapheneOs but I read that supported devices are only Google Pixels. True?
And I read that Google removed SD card slot years ago to force people to pay for Google Drive.
But built in SdCard reader for me is critical component of smartphone. I dont use any cloud storages and I never trust inernal memory because if phone get bricked data will be unrecoverable. With SdCard I can just eject and connect to PC. So are there other smartphones (manufactured 2020+ availible in EU) I can install GrapheneOs on? With SDCard reader included of course.
Regards.

I wonder if that claim is based on solid evidence such as an interview with a knowledgeable Google employee, or whether it is unfounded speculation?

I think it is pretty clear why Google would sell devices as big as a tablet, with a single usb-c port, no headphone jack and no sd-card slot

There is no cost factor, they sell overpriced storage (on device) and bluetooth headphones

iamjedi simply put, you can't use GrapheneOS without a Pixel device.

The only smartphone I can think of that still offers today a SDcard slot is a Sony xperia, however, these are notorious for not being software supported for very long.

You'd be better off with a pixel with GOS and either running your own nextcloud server or bite the bullet and subscribe to a E2EE cloud storage provider

Nope. Newer Pixels only. All explained on the GOS web site in much detail.

Wadder The only smartphone I can think of that still offers today a SDcard slot is a Sony xperia

      Fairphone also supports SD cards
