Questions about pixel tablet

I’m looking to get a pixel tablet to install graphene os on, I just have a couple of question

1: how long do you think support for the pixel tablet will around? In terms of end of life for updates etc
2: does the stylus work with graphene os for drawing etc?
3: does it have all the security features like setting a passsord distress password

I have been looking into buying a Pixel tablet because of the size format as a desktop solution but taking the Android update support period into account, I expect Google is hard at work on a new device for this niche market and will be releasing new one in no more than 12 months. I wonder how it will compare with current tablet in terms of hardware and network support. Either that or a Pixel laptop (which sounds like a song of a more distant future). Just something to bear in mind.

I decided to get one because I found one at a good price and they’ll only come down further in price. I know that there is 1 year of updates maybe and 3 years of security updates but by then as you say hopefully another tablet will be released. Laptop I doubt will happen they probably won’t ever see android just chrome os which I’ve tried on a laptop and it really feels limited and lame 😒

I need a bigger screen these days and my old tablet is out of security updates since it’s old and it is very heavy so I’m hoping that the tablet will be my daily driver with graphene os, I am still trying to move everything off of apple to graphene os.

The newer devices will probably be shipped with ai and I really don’t like ai and the privacy risk it brings, every time I go online there is some new fake ai video and it’s really sad tbh today it was a tiger being eaten by bugs and some dude pretended to save it and it’s just soulless annoying spam and I guess it’ll only get worse

Will GOS stop supporting the tablet in June of 2026 or am I looking at the wrong date? I also want a tablet for a minimalist workflow

Pixelpioneer88 no more security updates equals end of life. You're okay for 3 years and there may be extended support for some time after.

We will not be providing extended support released for devices on and 6th generation and beyond. Those devices got 5 years from launch, and the newest ones receive 7 years from launch.
