the impact from Google's change of android release

I am wondering what the impact is on GOS' release? I guess it will be small for now. However, this could be just the first step of Google's monopoly, which may slowly change whole Android into a private project, like Windows, and deliberately making Apps in play store only work on their closed source system, like what they did in Youtube code to slow down other non-chronimum browsers, and developers can not afford time to twist code for all sorts of Andorid variants. Will that eventually kill GOS? Do we have a bigger plan to handle this risk? Thanks.

It would be much more productive if people could first check whether there is an existing thread in which the issue is being discussed!

Otherwise the "discussion" will consist of 1,000 threads each containing one "I wonder what the effect will be?" post.
