Many thanks to the GrapheneOS team for providing this update. As an app developer I am wondering if I have to do anything special in my app to benefit from this improvement. Can I just use Android's LocationManager (with the network provider), or should I use Google's FusedLocation provider, or is there a specific API provided by GrapheneOS that I should use?

klkk Android provides LocationManation.NETWORK_PROVIDER and LocationManager.FUSED_PROVIDER itself. The OS fused location provider is reliably available and working for Android 12 and later. It was available for many years earlier but not every OEM included it or had it in a working state due to compatibility not being mandatory until Android 12. You definitely shouldn't use Google Play APIs if you care about GrapheneOS support since many users choose not to use sandboxed Google Play. You don't need a Google Play API for fused location.
