Buy pixel 7 locked to att, will graphene work?

Hi I want to buy pixel 7 from att on a month to month basis slow pay, obviously device gonna be network locked and will probably come with all the att bloat installed on it. I am a noob normie, wondering if I will be able to install graphene without issues?

Or I have to buy unlocked ffrom Google?

Boomba it's highly likely the bootloader will be unlockable. Pixels sold through carriers always have made that option inaccessible. If you need a payment plan you may be able to purchase one though Google that way. I have no experience with that though.

I'm new here, so there may be an exception I'm not aware of, but per the official instructions:

If the settings option to enable OEM unlock is greyed out, you will not be able to install GrapheneOS. Buying your pixel unlocked directly from google should reliably avoid this issue. If you can physically test the device before buying, check the instructions referenced above to enable developer options, then see if the OEM unlock toggle is available. The phone will need to be connected to the internet (wifi is fine) to check this, as the serial # is referenced to a list on google's servers to check if it is locked or not.

Good luck, and really encourage you to migrate to GrapheneOS, it is outstanding so far with my admittedly limited usage experience.

If you have a locked att phone. As long as the phone is fully paid off, you probably have to wait 30-40 days using stock before being able to unlock. That's how TMobile is.
