Pixel 9 XL Pro vs Pixel 9a

I am looking at buying the pixel 9xlpro or the 9a to degoogle with grapheneos. For me pluses for 9xlpro: screen size, telephoto lens. For 9a (assuming it gets gos) batt size, price, no camera bump. No interest in AI so guessing 8g ram in the 9a is fine. No emerg satt in 9a, curious about that? As I travel a lot I wonder if difference between US and Canadian models matters? Leaning towards 9a 256g. What do you think?

I recently got myself a pixel 9 pro XL and love it, the cameras are all amazing, screen is bright and useful even in daylight, only downside is its a little big so the occasional awkward moment of trying to do something on the far side of where I am holding it.

It comes down to price and size, whichever is more important to you. 9a will have a few months longer support because it came out later, but it'll be hard to find a discount rn. Also consider if you need the improved camera sensors of the XL and the ultrasonic fingerprint reader plus the improved charging speed. A middle ground could be the 9 and 9 Pro. Also look into those. Maybe worth waiting for the 10 series but those are not supposed to be too much different from the 9 series per rumors.

I recently got myself a Pixel 9 Pro XL because I needed the larger storage, I use it offline alot so I have alot of things stored there.
The camera's are indeed fantastic, and I could not think myself without the periscope telelens anymore.
Also, the slightly larger screen is better for my eyes.
The larger RAM is great for my offline AI usage. (I use ChatterUI)
I did not regret my purchase, I love my XL.

However, the Pixel 9a has a slightly greater batterylife, and if you use screenprotectors, the ultrasonic sensor might not be ideal, (at least in my experience, I think its best to do some research on it first) then the Pixel 9a might be the better option.
I wouldn't worry about the large bezel on the 9a, after applying a case I suspect it will become less aparent.
Also, you save quite a buck with the Pixel 9a.
In short; if you buy it for the camera and the larger screen and big storage and don't mind spending the extra cash, go for the XL, but if you want a a slightly smaller phone, (more pocketable) better batterylife and save a whole lot of money, go for the 9a.

I honestly don't think there is too much difference between them though, apart from the camera's, however, I do not own the 9a, so I'm not sure.

I bought the 9a the other day and have graphenos running on it. The web install was flawless. I am having trouble getting the RBC banking app to work but problems with that seem to be broader than just graphene. Other bank apps and everything else I have installed on it seems to be working nicely. My old phone was about the same size as the XL so the screen does feel small, but I think I will become accustomed to that. Less than half the price of the XL and larger battery were factors in my choice of the 9a over the xl.
