I have a Pixel 9 Pro and a Pixel Tablet. On both devices, I will randomly lose Internet access. Everything is connected, no warnings, but no data transfer. Browsers won't load, email won't fetch, and a speedtest fails with a no connection error.

I'm not running any custom DNS. I run DDG App Tracking Protection, but it's set to NOT block traffic without a VPN.

When this happens, the only thing that fixes it is a restart. I've also reset both devices a couple of times, but the issue presidents. Anyone else experiencing this?

NeXTLoop Does this happen on multiple networks, or always on one network?

NeXTLoop When the Internet connection problem happens, can you try a switching to a secondary user profile that does not have DDG App Tracking Protection installed?

If the problem happens on one device, does it happen on the other device at the same time?

You might want to try the private DNS feature and compare. For example Cloudflare, Google or Quad9, to name a few.

I did not have the same symptoms but it seems to have removed a lot of "inconsistencies". I am not an expert but one thing to know with dns over TLS is that it's obvious that it's being used, and is reportedly easier to block than dns over https (AFAIK), which might be an issue in certain part of the world. I personally don't mind it to much and kinda like to have that notification that my connection to the DNS server is not working, which sometimes happens every now and then on some wifi but is quite rare.

Yeah, I uninstalled DDG in favor of Mullvad's private DNS, which blocks trackers and ads. Gonna run this for a bit and see if the problem goes away.
