Settings only shows some settings

When I go into settings it only shows some settings. As an example none of the usb settings are visible, I have to go into the "search" field and type usb there to get access to them. How do I fix this?

Somerandomname Which USB settings are you referring to specifically? There are a variety of USB settings which are shown under a variety of sub-menus.

Apart from USB settings, which other settings are you missing?

treequell I don't have access to any of the usb settings through the sub-menus. There are literally 0 usb settings that I can find in the settings app without seaching for them in the search field.

I don't know what other settings I don't have available as they are not available. Not trying to be funny, but other than the usb settings I simply cannot recall, but I do remember I was search and not finding at least 2-3 different settings.

If you search in Settings, in the results menu it tells you the menu path to find that option in Settings.

Are you saying that when you go back to the main menu of the Settings app, and navigate through the sub-menus the option is not there?

It would be helpful if you could name which specific USB setting you are referring to.

Like I said, I literally have 0 usb settings available by going into the submenus. Including "Connected devices > USB Preferences" and "Network and Internet > Hotspot and tethering > Usb tethering". The submenu "USb preferences doesn't exist.

I'm not sure if the first one really is a submenu or just a dialogue which usually pops up when you connect the device to e.g. a computer. If I search for it like you do, it indeed shows up in results as Connected devices> USB preferences. Maybe (misleadingly) that appears to be a link to a sub menu while in reality it's not?

The second one (USB tethering) is located under Settimgs> Network & imternet> Hotspot & tethering> USB tethering. It's grayed out if you have not connected a corresponding device via USB.

Where to find exploit protection settings treequell already mentioned.

Have you tried to change the settings while being connected via USB to a computer or is your question just about where to find rhe settings you mentioned?

What option have you selected under Settings > Security & privacy > Exploit protection > USB-C port.

I have it set to Charging only, and I can't access the USB tethering or USB connected devices options. But that's expected because I have effectively disabled them by setting the USB port to charging only.

Could it be that you have done the same?

treequell Yes it was on, but I could still find the usb settings through the search function. I also, just now, tested to enable usb-c but the settings still didn't turn up.
