Google reveals Pixel 9a
It looks solid but i really hate that they are using the older modems that were causing the overheating problems. It seems the 9 series mostly solved that from what I've read so hopefully this is the last year of them.

I like the increased battery capacity.
fid02 Agreed, but those charging speeds are still criminal.
TheAwesomenESQ ....not a fan of that bezel.
You're talking about the tiny black border around the display area? Seriously dude, function is more important than "ooooh its so pretty". That gap makes it possible to actually hold the phone and makes it possible to USE the edge of the display.
But what about the modem downgrade compared to the P9?
BaronAfanas What modem is in P9? What modem is in P9a?
secrec Samsung’s Exynos 5400 modem in P9, Samsung’s Exynos 5300 modem in P9a
Its a different number, but are they actually different? In any case, probably to save a couple $$. The "A" versions are the budget version of pixels. Honestly though, I've always found samsuck modems to be pretty terrible across the board.
fid02 But still not removable :(
No satellite emergency calls on the 9a. But disabled in Europe anyway so not really a loss.

secrec As AndroidAuthority writes:
"Google has revealed that the Pixel 9a has the Exynos Modem 5300 rather than the newer Exynos Modem 5400 seen in the Pixel 9 series.
[...]
Previous Pixels with the old modem were criticized for their cellular reception and battery life."
Others write
"The Exynos 5300 modem could be a significant downgrade for the all-new Pixel 9a. Notably, previous Pixels packing this modem—especially the Pixel 6 series—had mediocre cellular reception and terrible battery life on cellular data, with massive user complaints regarding this online."
Actually, the pixel 6 has 5123. 5300, which was supposed to make everything better, was ultimately exactly the same in every measurable sense. Samsuck modems are crap, regardless of what number they market it as.
