Hello everybody!

I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, running the latest update 2025031400. After the second-to-last update, Android Auto stopped working properly.

Android Auto no longer connects via Bluetooth, and USB connectivity is inconsistent. Bluetooth displays the error:
"Connection error. Turn the device off and on again."
However, turning it off and on, deleting, and re-pairing the connection does not help—the error persists.

All necessary permissions are enabled, both in the sandbox and for the app itself. All required dependencies are installed. Developer mode is enabled for Android Auto, with the following options turned on:

  • Wireless Android Auto connection
  • Use the car’s microphone
  • Unknown sources

When connecting the smartphone via USB, the car screen presents a choice between Android Auto and Mikrolink. However, selecting Mikrolink does not work—only Android Auto is available.

When disconnecting the USB, the connection is immediately lost (which is likely expected). However, USB pairing behaves strangely:

When dialing a number on the phone, the dial screen does not appear, making it impossible to determine if the call is in progress.
The SIM card selection menu no longer appears.

After another connection attempt today, the car stopped recognizing Android Auto entirely via both Bluetooth and USB. When connecting via USB, the option to select Mikrolink no longer appears. Bluetooth still shows a connection error.

I have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling Android Auto, revoking and re-granting all permissions, and repeatedly re-pairing the smartphone, deleting the device both in the car system and on the smartphone. None of these steps have helped.

I haven’t reinstalled GrapheneOS, as there are too many configurations, and that’s not an option.

Before the second-to-last update, the only issue was a prompt on the car screen asking to confirm Android Auto activation. Now, it feels like some permissions are missing, but no additional permission requests appear.

Android Auto logs, system logs, and screenshots (screenshots in Russian, sorry) are available at the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ANHoLbGmLYKuPNbntDqlgLgS6OXrPosT?usp=sharing

Previously, I used Samsung, and never had such issues.
