Timed shutdown and startup

On my old phone (BQ Aquaris X Pro) I was able to configure an automatic shut down and startup of the device.

I wonder if something like that would be possible with GrapheneOS as well? Or does such a feature need support from the hardware which is not available on Pixel phones? (in my case a Pixel 8)

I am aware of auto-reboot, but that is not what I am looking for. I could configure my bq, so that it turned itself off at e.g. 23:00 and would turn itself on at e.g. 06:00.

avaluedcustomer Could you please share what you'd like to achieve with this? Maybe there's a different solution to the question. For example, if you want to have less radiation from phone's antenna, you could enable airplane mode with Tasker or similar software. Or use scheduled DND mode so no one can wake you up when you sleep.

turn off maybe with tasker.. but turn on schedule.. no idea.

The main goal is safe battery and the secondary goal is indeed not to be disturbed.

Automatically switching on airplane mode would be some improvement, but to my knowledge Tasker requires a rooted device in order to be able to achieve that.

So it was indeed supported by the hardware on my old phone, thanks for the information. I didn't know that "power-on timer" was a thing :)

You can use GrapheneOS battery bypass feature, so your phone will feed on electricity from a wall outlet leaving the battery untouched.

With QPR2 GrapheneOS got Modes in Settings. You can setup a schedule and the phone will switch between them automatically.

thmf Tasker does not need root access for airplane mode.. I have a schedule to do it twice a day, on and off with a pause between. Otherwise it happened people could not reach me.
