huberto If you grant an app the "phone" permission, it can access some SIM details like phone number(s). And also read SIM contacts if "Contacts" permission is granted too.
That seems plausible.
huberto Any application granted "phone" permission in the private space can also read phone number(s) and SIM contacts.
It seems natural, rather than surprising, that granting the same permission would have the same effects.
huberto I wished it would behave more like my Pixel Tablet, i.e. faking the absence of a U3G/modem/phone device.
My understanding of Private Space is that it is intended that apps operate normally (in accordance with permissions) but are less reachable from the owner profile's launcher, not that Private Space is a way to trick apps into thinking they have permissions that they don't have.
If there are reputable sources online that describe Private Space as a way to trick apps, is it possible to cite some?
