nei This article is based around a few anecdotes on Reddit. It's definitely not something we're receiving any regular reports about.

Pixel 8a and later have different GNSS performance due to moving to Samsung from Broadcom for this component. Whether it's worse or better overall or unclear. It seems to work fine for our users. We didn't have network-based location included in the OS until recently GrapheneOS itself was entirely using GNSS + A-GNSS for location, and that's still the default. The theory in the article that this was masked by network-based location doesn't seem to have much substance.

Thank you. The article links a support page from Google as well, with 128 "I have the same question". And it got locked. So that seems a bit off.

I only want to use GNSS + A-GNSS anyway, and returning the phone is a possibility. I'll update here either way if I do end up getting one.
