Hi everyone, I have pixel 6a and 160 app installed and everytime after update app optimization starts naturally but it takes almost 2 hours for 160 apps and battery drains so much quickly like 30 percent sometimes more with very much heating. I wonder am I doing something wrong or this is normal?

lovila8834 I wonder am I doing something wrong or this is normal?

    Maybe something in between?

I suspect a lot of users have a smaller number of apps installed. My app count (from Settings, Apps, "Show all ____") is 28, of which I installed 10 and the remainder came with GrapheneOS. Of those there are two I basically never use, that are disabled and could be deleted. Personally I don't know how I could find the time to research the reliability and privacy of 100-plus apps.

Overall, I suspect most users don't have 160 apps, so I suspect for most users AOT-compiling apps doesn't take very long. So I'm not saying you're doing "something wrong", but the number of apps you have might be atypical.

Maybe some option like 50% of apps get optimized ahead of time instead of all at once.

    As a control sample,
I use a 6a and have one additional app installed, my update optimisation is almost instantaneous.
I assume the more apps installed the longer the optimisation will be.

Unfortunately, I mean fortunately actually I can install more apps on graphene os because I can restrain them, and separate profile, work profile works great(because of security and privacy is so good) I use use apps for multiple countries, banks, local apps, and before you see it becomes 150+, I think the best solution looks like to buy newest fastest model but when I look benchmarks pixel6a is not so slow than latest model. I am trying to find another solution but so far, the heating and battery drain and at the same time 2 hours long optimization is not small headache for me.

Same here. I am afraid there is nothing that can be done, we are slowly reaching the "great" performance of TiWorker on Windows.

Given the frequent updates, it's a bit annoying, I agree.
