Skipable Secondary pin re enter prompt

I made a new discovery today:
Sometimes, when the screen is locked I enter the pin to enter the phone.
But today, there comes a secondary pin prompt, that I am able to skip.
Now that wonders me because I did not change a setting right before I saw this and it's also wondering to me because I can just skip it and enter the phone.
The only thing i can imagine as a reason is the private space feature.
Maybe the secondary pin promt is for the private space but I'm not sure.
I have an unused private space for a while now and I never became a secondary pin promt since then. But I think maybe it is still it because today I used it and I did not reboot the phone till then.
I tryed to find out exactly when this is triggered but without success.
I tryed to lock down the phone and then unlock the screen but it did not trigger the secondary pin prompt.
And I tryed normal lock screen and relock.
Maybe I have to let the screen locked for a few minutes to trigger it I don't know.

Over all, all I want is an answer like "this is completely normal and supposed to happen you very opposite of a smart person" and then I'm happy. But for the very little possibility that this is a bug or something else I rather be safe than sorry and ask you guys.

Fartimoji I'm not sure I understand the exact sequence of events. The post starts out mentioning "BFU" but discusses a "secondary PIN prompt", which definitely should not be available BFU.

Is it possible to present the observed phenomena in first-to-last order? For example, if there was a Private Space created, presumably that would be near the start of the sequence, though it is discussed starting from the middle of the post.

If somebody will try to reproduce what you are reporting, that somebody will need a list of steps that can be started with step #1, then step #2, etc.

Fartimoji To me, this sounds like it could be the SIM PIN? I personally don't use one so I'm not sure when it pops up or if it can be dismissed.

de0u so now I encountered it again. This time I know exactly the order what happened.

(Manual) Reboot
Pin tiped in the prompt
Secondary pin prompt appeared
I skipped it with the "back" button from 3 button navigation
The secondary pin prompt minimized itself "into" the settings app icon on the screen.

So it was a bit dirrefent then the last times and I don't know what triggers it. It makes no sense to me.

de0u and I don't know where my last answer is because I already answered yesterday or the day before. I stayed that I made a mistake in my initial post. The phone was AFU state.

Fartimoji Was the private space active before the reboot?

If this happens again, maybe provide the secondary PIN and see what happens?

de0u private space was not active before reboot.
So the owner screen lock is a password, not a pin. Once I unlocked the phone after reboot or change profile back to owner, with that password, I don't have to type it in next time. From there it is fingerprint+pin.
It has to be both in a normal scenario.
Right now I rechecked the pin settings and under /settings/deviceunlock/ it says "screenlock: password" and "fingerprint unlock: fingerprint addet"
I wonder a bit because in remember setting this up this way( although I'm not as sure as I should), but now I can't see any signs of a secondary pin setup. When I press on the options I have to.type.in the current password and then it asks for.a new one. When I press on pin it asks me right away to set a new one.

Fartimoji The next time this happens, can you try providing the PIN you have set (the fingerprint PIN) to see what happens?

de0u it happened again today. But I can not replicate. Sometimes it happens and sometimes its not.
I did what you say today and the screen just unlocked. Is it possible that somebody has my pin now? (Because I think mabe this is triggered by maleware).
Also what happened today (not the first time) that when the first password prompt after boot, appears, the password can not be tiped in. The keyboard pops up but when I press the buttons nothing happens. Even pressing the power button to restard the process does not solve the issue. Again it was not possible to enter characters to the password prompt. When this happens, a lighter shade of grey square shape is seeable on the screen and it looks just like a glitch to me.
If anything sounds odd to you please tell me.
If I rather buy a new device than I want to know. If it's most likely nothing to be nothing to be concerned about than I wnat to know this too

For me, with physical sim, the pin can not be dismissed and the sim pin normally shows up before BFU. So

Reboot -> Sim pin -> Real Pin/ Password

But i dont know if it is different for the e-Sim

other8026 it can not be the sim pin because I don't use a sim pin. And it can be skipped so that is that.
Edit: I don't use physical sim or e-sim.
There has never been any type of sim active in this phone.

I am experiencing a similar thing: Whenever I reboot, I first get shows a "Re-enter your password for additional security" system prompt which I can skip (whether I type in my passcode or skip it doesn't change anything conceivable), then I return to the Lockscreen. I don't think this is a problem in itself but from a UX-standpoint it's kinda pointless.
