Why does it show 5G only option on one SIM and not the other?

Hi all

It appears that I can select 5G only on one of my SIMs using vodafone UK, but not the other (using a UK carrier called EE.)

Is this based on carrier config or GOS settings?

ProfessorMonks It requires that the carrier supports 5G standalone instead of only 5G non-standalone where it has to be used with 4G enabled.

GrapheneOS in the UK, there is a mix of 5G SA & NSA. I know that both carriers have some SA masts but they are in the minority compared with NSA masts. Does the option of 5G only appear due to carrier config sent by vodafone UK? Or does the 5G only option appear due to the mast which one is connected to in that moment?

If it's based on carrier config, then does that mean EE have simply not sent that config to their users?

ProfessorMonks It's based on carrier configuration shipped with GrapheneOS combined with what is provisioned. The current cell tower shouldn't matter.
