I would like to say since I updated my Pixel to 2025031400 I have had no issues with fingerprint. I was having them before. Thank you to everyone on the Graphene team I really appreciate the privacy and stability your OS provides. My daily driver.
To add to this, I also have not had any problems with the fingerprint reader in a while... It might be coincidental as my phone only reboots once a day, so I may have been lucky each time as it appeared rather random before.
Till updating my P9 on 2025032100 I thought I'd be untroubled by this bug. Now that it occured, it got fixed by 1 power off and 2 reboots.
Thanks for staying ahead and keeping us informed
Created an account just to chime in - this does impact the pro series, at least this is the case for my P9P XL. I had taken a break from GOS for a few months (reverted to stock) and came back just a few hours ago only to find that my fingerprint option is completely missing from settings and the lock screen. Reboots/power cycles are hit or miss as far as a resolution is concerned. Not sure if any other pro users are hit by this, but I definitely am.
Thanks for the transparency on this issue! Really appreciate the open dialog and responses from the dev team!

Fingerprint capabilities are now also in private space accessible on my P9 due to newest updates.
General: After updating to newest Build and rebooting the Fingerprint now seems to work on the beginning.
My fingerprint sensor came back up eventually, but after a reboot, it won't come back online. I've restarted probably 30 times since yesterday and nothing. Did anyone have this bug come back after a reboot, or just me?
Bgregs This impacts both the stock Pixel OS and GrapheneOS. It's not specific in any way to GrapheneOS. It's not normal for it to occur on a Pixel 9 Pro XL though.
I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL and I can confirm that I have this issue. Fingerprint reader is not recognized by the OS on startup, requiring power cycling the device a couple times before functionality returns.
With the Latest update the fingerprint was gonr again. Rebooting brought it back.

gos_user What is a soft reest? I press [power] + [vol down] on boot and the options are as follows:
I have the same problem on a P9
Also just happened to me after installing the latest update for Pixel 9 and restarted. I noticed this because also I couldn't connect to my bluetooth headphones. Not sure if this is somehow related
Having issues with my Pixel 9 Pro. I setup an alphanumric password and I am 100% sure that its correct. Looks like its not just a fingerprint issue only. I had to hard factory wipe the device. I dont think I am the only one with this issue as I have a friend who just setup his new pixel 8 and he is also certain he did not change his password.
He has been using the same password for a week and now he cant login. Something weird is happening
ShinRamen247 That's not related to this thread. Many people change their password and then forget it. It could also be caused by a bug in a non-default keyboard app.
GrapheneOS If a third-party keyboard is responsible for a user not being able to login, is there a fallback method to use the default keyboard?
I jusy got this bug on build 2025040700. Already tried rebooting and shutting down - powering back a few times. The fingerprint scanner worked once when my screen timed out and stopped working again after that. Fingerprint unlock is also missing from system settings and app settings.
DSJ009 My understanding is that if, as the system boots, it can't handshake with the fingerprint sensor then it disables the code that would manage the sensor, thus the settings pieces won't be visible. So far it seems that rebooting a sufficient number of times will enable the fingerprint sensor handshake to work.
