Preventing Microsoft Teams App From Automatically Starting

I use Microsoft Team occasionally. I've installed it and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, the app starts every time I start my phone and runs in the background. I don't want that. I'd prefer to start Teams when I want to use it and not have it run in the background. How can I accomplish this?

BridgePlayer If I recall correctly, you could activate work profile and install the app there. Work profile can freeze apps (I think), so they won't run.
If you also install Play Services in the same profile (prior to installing Teams) you'll even have Teams notifications via push while your phone is sleeping and work profile apps aren't frozen. I.e. you can have proper Teams app experience and pause it on demand.

As i recall teams is available as a PWA, I'd suggest using it instead of the native app.

It's not. The web version forces you to use the app if it detects you're using a mobile browser.

That's interesting. I have the Microsoft Teams app and it doesn't start automatically. When you swipe down twice does your phone show Teams as an active app?

web app, basically instead of installing an app you use the site on the web which is set up to mimic app behavior

You can do that but then you won't get any notifications if someone tries to contact you through Teams.

Rest assured, I'm criticizing Microsoft, I suppose Microsoft want to maximize there data harvesting ability.
