Location permission "once"

Hi all,
From memory, when an app asks for permission to use the phone's location, the options are once, when the app is running, and always (is that right?).
Does "once" means just a single time or "just until the closes this time"? I ask because I might like an app to find me once, but then not to track me as I move. Say I go to a new place, I might want to centre a map on myself but without the app being to see where I go afterwards. Does this make sense?

Just remove the location permission before you move. Or use the global location toggle.

Thanks for this. And sure, those mitigations are do-able. Just wanted to make sure what the situation was.
