Ohealth Oneplus watch2

hello, until recently I had my oneplus watch2 paired and connected with the Ohealth App on my pixel 8 without any problems.

The watch is still connecting through bt but the installation on the depending Ohealth app gets stuck at 12%.

I have reset both the app and watch countless times as well as trying to use a previous version of the health app with no success.

Since I had no problem until 2 days ago and pairing the watch with another smart phone with a different OS is working fine it must be grapheneos interfering? Maybe some system update?

I granted the app all possible permissions, also tried changing exploit protection but still not working.

Any ideas / help would be highly appreciated 🙏

update: after disabling the "reroute the location requests" in sandboxed google play and allowing precise location it works. but now I'm questioning if this setting allows all apps including Google to track my location at all times and therefore my privacy shield is wide open?

Anyone know and if how i can prevent this

I'm facing the same problem as you had with my OPW2R, but I can't manage to get it paired, it get stucked at 12%. Could you please tell me which exact settings you tried to make it work ?

Update, here is the list of the exact settings I used, I made it work for the pairing :
-Allow all app permission
-Disable reroute option in GPS and allow precise localisation
-Exploit protection off in OHealth

Now I will play with the bunch of parameters to see what's the minimum we can keep open to make it still work. Let's keep in touch !

Update 2 : for a nearly normal use, once connected :
-OHealth : I gave nearly all authorizations. Unlimited background. It needs location app. No need for Exploit protection mode.
-Play services : Needs absolutely the "nearly devices" authorizations. I gave "contact", "network", "notifications" and "sensors". Can be limited abckground activity, and no need for Exploit protection mode.

Play store : I was not able to install any app though my phone's play store, so i revoked alot of permissions.

My indicator to tell it works is that neither the watch nor OHealth app tells me something is wrong. I could install authentificator pro though watch's play store, and it synced with my phone.

Just wanted to add that i encountered the same blocking error(stuck at 12% with subsequent "failed to pair" warning message) when attempting to pair a Oneplus Watch 3 to a P9P XL running GOS.
The following log was observed:
WearSetup: [WatchConnectionStep] Connected configuration not found, retrying in 3000
The fix as already stated by poster above is to enable "Nearby Devices" permission for the Play Services app.
No other permissions are necessary nor is disabling exploit protection compatibility mode for OHealth required.
I even revoked the Location perm to OHealth and everything works fine.
