Hello, would it be possible to make video recording possible even if the microphone access is blocked?

I sometimes want to record mute videos and I am forced to give microphone access to even start a recording.
Thanks

skipit I sometimes want to record mute videos and I am forced to give microphone access to even start a recording.

Just select "Disable audio" in the dialog that pops up when the microphone permission is not granted "while using it" to the app.

The workflow would be really great like this, I usually have the microphone access permanently blocked and always have to juggle with the settings.

However, in my opinion, your suggestion has one disadvantage: It sets the permissions from Allow only while using the app or ask every timeto don't allow. The next time you want to record video with sound, you first have to change this again under long press Camera Icon>App info> Permissions> Microphone.

As I understand it, skipit setup is usually :
Long Press App Icon> App Info> Permissions> Microphone> Allow only using while using the app
      and

Settings> Security & privacy controls> Microphone access toggled off.

So access to the microphone is usually blocked, right?

If so you can activate or deactivate Include Audio in the GrapheneOS camera settings (triangle top left).

If microphone access is blocked and Include Audio is deactivated, a crossed-out microphone symbol appears in the record button and you can record without sound.

If you want to record with sound, you have to unblock the microphone and activate Include Audio in the video menu.

If you can live with the fact that audio is recorded for a short fraction, you can also press record with the settings just mentioned and then immediately press the mute audio button (crossed-out microphone symbol), which has been displayed in the GrapheneOS camera on the left above the Pause button since some versions and is quite handy.

It would be easier to describe this with screenshots, but I hope I was able to express myself in a helpful way nevertheless.
